Bengal to host Russian N-power plant

India on Friday announced the names of the places where the US, Russia and
France will set up nuclear reactors.

A press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs here said that Chhayamithi
Virdi in Gujarat and Kovvada in Andhra Pradesh will be the designated sites for setting
up light water reactor-based nuclear power plants in cooperation with the US.

Jaitapur in Maharashtra has been identified for France, while Russia will set up the
nuclear power plants in Haripur in West Bengal and at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu.
